On May 26, chief economist of World Bank Research Department Dr Xu Lixin visited School of Economics, Peking University. Dean Prof. Sun Qixiang met the guest and held talks. Dr Xu Lixin was admitted to SEPKU in 1982. He said he was pleased to see the rapid development of his alma mater and SEPKU in recent years and he hopes to contribute to the development of SEPKU. The two sides exchanged views on summer courses, joint training and other issues, and reached a preliminary cooperation agreement. Associate Professor Qin Xuezheng, Assistant Dean for Foreign Affairs of SEPKU attended the meeting.

Subsequently, Dr Xu Lixin made a lecture entitled "Team Research: speaking from my twenty years’ experience" in the “Economics Academic Forum” of SEPKU. Based on his own academic research experience, Dr Xu introduced how to cultivate research interest, play your strengths, craft research topic, and give full play to the teamwork advantages. At the end of the lecture, he gave a brief introduction of World Bank Research Department, and discussed questions the audience concerned.
