On December 13，SEPKU Shanghai Alumni Association inauguration and the first alumni forum were held in Shanghai. Tu Guangshao (Shanghai Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and executive deputy mayor), Wang Limei (the Peking University Alumni Association Vice Chairman), Sun Qixiang (Dean of SEPKU), Zhang Zheng (Party Secretary of SEPKU), Liao Min (Director of CBRC Shanghai Office), Gu Liping (Peking University alumni association secretary-general of Shanghai), Wang Shuguang (Vice Dean of SEPKU), as well as more than 200 alumni attended.

The meeting began with a report on the General Assembly`s preparatory work, then elected the first session of the council members, in which Huang Heming was elected as the first chairman and Mao Yanbin as the first secretary-general. As a 1978 class alumni, Tu Guangshao congratulated on the establishment of the alumni association, and hoped that SEPKUers can use the platform to gather resources and actively promote the social economic construction in Shanghai.

Dean Sun Qixiang expressed warm congratulations to the establishment of the Shanghai alumni association in her speech. And she said the school will continue to strengthen contact with alumni in Shanghai, and actively support the development of Shanghai Alumni Association, at the same time she hoped the alumni can contribute their strength in the development of the  Alma Mater.

Peking University Alumni Association Vice Chairman Wang Limei and Peking University Shanghai Alumni Association Secretary-General Gu Liping also made speeches respectively and gave their congratulations on the establishment of the Shanghai Alumni Association of SEPKU.
